I am working as the HR Manager for a company that values my education and experience and lets me have ‘a seat a the table’ for company decisions, and I even get to initiate many of them.
Most recently, I have been taking part in analyzing the job market and compensation packages to ensure our wages are competitive enough for the industry we are in and to motivate and maintain our employees. We are in an industry where the demand exceeds the supply of workers and competition is fierce.
This was a big job that took about 2 months to research, report on, present to the owners of the company and implement. The decisions were data based through job market trends and our company trends. It was a lot of fun to take on this project and see how our employees responded to the different incentives.
