You might have seen glimpses of some big news on our social media channels over the past few months; but in case you didn’t here it is: Ashton College is opening up a brand new campus right in the heart of Abbotsford.
Everyone at Ashton has been been working hard on it for quite some time and we figured it was time to bring together all the information we’ve released and put it in one place.
Jane Chang, Ashton’s Vice President and Director of Business Development says, “we always knew we were going to expand and Abbotsford is the perfect location for it to happen.” The Abbotsford campus is newly built and features many of the programs and courses that are currently offered at our Vancouver campus in Coal Harbour. This includes Home Inspection, Immigration Consulting, Human Resources, Bookkeeping, and the CELPIP prep course. Classes at Abbotsford are all offered in collaborative, in-class formats and will be starting in September.
“It just made sense to expand,” says Jane. “We’ve been in Coal Harbour since 1998 and with so many Vancouverites choosing to live in the Fraser Valley because of a lower cost of living, opening a campus there was a smart decision. We wanted Ashton to be accessible to everyone.”
And accessible it is. Located on Cardinal Avenue, just off of Mt. Lehmann Road, the number 2 bus stops right outside the campus multiple times per day. Plenty of outdoor parking is available as well. The campus is also in close proximity to numerous restaurants and food outlets. “We wanted a location that was similar to what Vancouver offers,” says Chang. “Students need an accessible campus that’s close to amenities.”
The Abbotsford campus was designed from the ground up to be as modern and inviting as possible so as to encourage collaboration and a positive learning environment. At 7,000 square feet, the campus is spacious and airy, with floor to ceiling windows in the classrooms.
“The Fraser Valley is expanding and is a major destination for immigrants. Many of them need recertification in their education to make the most of their career in Canada. Ashton is glad to be able to provide them with the opportunity to do so.”
Just in time for the start of a new Immigration Consultant Diploma intake, Ashton Abbotsford will be hosting an information session on July 9th. “The info session will be from 2 to 5pm,” says Jane. “We encourage anyone interested in a career in immigration to attend.” Admission for programs opens soon so stay tuned!
